Broken

Winter weather has come. It rained all last night and today, coating the community in a sheet of ice. The trees look to be made of glass, and many seem as fragile. I can hear mighty boughs cracking under the pressure of the layers of unrelenting ice. Every minute or so, an echoing crack reverberates through the neighborhood. It's mostly coming from the park. I just heard another one. Like breaking bones. Those trees, older than I am, just aren't strong enough. I flinch every time I hear that noise. It's so sad, and I'm afraid to see the damage tomorrow. A day of ice has caused irreparable harm.

Were you out there with your camera? Even devastation can be art.
